Terms of Service

1. About Residay
Residay is a visa compliance tracking tool that helps individuals monitor their physical presence requirements. Residay provides calculations, reports, and AI-powered features to assist with absence tracking. Residay is currently operated as a non-commercial personal project by Ammar Sammour, based in the United Kingdom. No fees are charged and no revenue is earned from the service.
2. Not Legal Advice
Residay is an informational tool and does not provide legal or immigration advice. Our calculations, AI responses, and compliance reports are for guidance only and should not be relied upon as legal counsel. Always consult a qualified immigration adviser or solicitor (in the UK, an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority or a solicitor regulated by the SRA) for decisions about your visa status. We are not liable for any immigration decisions made based on information provided by Residay.
3. AI Features
Residay uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) for features including the travel assistant, document scanner, and smart notifications. AI-generated responses may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for verifying all AI-generated information before acting on it. The document scanner extracts trip data from images using AI vision; always review extracted data before importing. The AI travel assistant is configured to explain how rules work and perform calculations — it does not give eligibility verdicts, and you should not treat its output as immigration advice.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate travel data for compliance calculations to be meaningful. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, which will permanently remove all your data (subject to the retention windows described in our Privacy Policy).
5. Access
Residay is currently a free closed beta. There is no fee, no subscription, and no purchase available — every user with access uses the service at no cost. If Residay later opens to public, paid, or commercial use, these terms will be updated and published before any payment is taken from any user.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering the application, or using automated tools to scrape data. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights in the content you submit to Residay, including your trip data, visa profiles, uploaded documents, and messages you send to the AI assistant. By using the service, you grant Residay a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you (for example, to calculate compliance, show your trips on your dashboard, and generate the exports you request). This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, subject to the retention windows set out in the Privacy Policy.
Residay, including the Residay name, the platform software, the user interface, the compliance-calculation engine, and any content we publish (blog posts, documentation, marketing material), is owned by Ammar Sammour and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the right to access and use the service as described in these terms, nothing grants you any right, title, or interest in the platform itself. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the platform, except to the extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of Liability
Residay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to immigration decisions made based on our calculations or AI features.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of Residay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
Subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where those mandatory rules apply, nothing in this clause removes your right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.
11. Minimum Age
You must be at least 16 years old to use Residay. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement.
